I bought this from a farmer in central Missouri for $700.00. The boat was complete except for some missing cushions. Came with a custom cover and bimini top. All were in great shape. A lot of the varnish had peeled off the boat, but all of the wood was in excellent condition.

I couldn't find any of the "in-process" pics I took, but here are a few nearing the completion..

I decided not to go back with the white stripe down the side. I liked the total wood look better.

I now know the meaning of "hand Rubbed". I did 23 coats of marine grade polyurethane on the topsides and 18 coats on the hull. Each was hand rubbed with super fine steel wool between each coat. I think the reason I only did 18 coats on the hull was because of sore fingers!

All of the trim work is original. I repainted the rub rail and cleaned up the emblems. All of the chrome on the boat looked like it was brand new. Not a single pit anywhere. I had several people ask me where I had the chrome work done.

I redid all of the cushions in white canvas. Well, I didn't, but my Mother-in-Law did. Turns out she was actually good for something. Who would have known...

The bottom of the boat below the water line came factory covered in glass. I redid the gelcoat and replaced the chine boards on both sides. I also sand blasted and painted the trailer white.

Here I have all of the running lights and horn installed and all new wiring finished. The only thing I added to the boat was a new fire extinguisher and a new radio. Other than that it is all original.

My first voyage. My wife & I took a five day trip to Bull Shoals Lake to enjoy the boat. It ran like a dream. It has the original 1963 Keikiefer Mercury 70hp six cylinder. This thing ran so well when I bought it I was afriad to change the plugs. Just bump the key and it was running.

This was my first wooden boat. Having grown up on the coast of Maine, wooden boats and boating in general is in my blood. My Father was an old scottish Sea Captain and owned a 1928, 65 foot Luders day yacht that I grew up on. (working on)...I guess thats when I got bitten by the boating bug...
