1978 Starcraft 16'

The whole project

Well this is what it looks like now.

Motor on stand and off of rotten transom

This is going to be my next project.

Main Support

All of the main support bolts are out and extra screws holding the splash well in place are removed

Addition Support Bolts

Side bolts on the transom, I had to drill out a few and cut off the bottom two due to them spinning free and rust holding the nuts on.

Transom view outside

With almost all the bolts removed I should be able to life the wood transom out, thats what I thought.

Cutting

This is the pieces of metal I had to cut out to remove the transom.

Transon Wood Out!!

Finally after about half an hour of bending metal tabs back where the bolts went into the transom wood I got it out. Not in one whole piece, but in three. The rotted wood seem to split where the curved section started.

Transom Wood

Well here it is in one piece.

Transom Wood

Here is where in split into two.

Half way repair, to be repaired again and done the right way

Well I saw this before and now I want to fix it the right way so when I paint the boat you will not see it.

Power cable for electric winch for the 22' boat

Here is how I power the electric winch, it works great.
