1989 16' Sun Mate

Hull is in great shape

Demolition time

Rotten floor came up rather easily

More Demo

Foam is saturated

Cleanup

Removed foam. Also removed 4 gallons of water
2 part foam DOES hold water.
Also, Stringers and transom were in great shape which is odd because usually they are rotten as well. Lucky....

Starting Reconstruction

Hull is all cleaned up. Cable/wiring pvc conduit glassed in.
I also glassed in a box under the back pvc elbow to allow for drainage into center box then to splash well.

PVC Conduit Drainage

A close up view- holes were drilled through the bottom of the pvc elbow to allow drainage

PVC Conduit Drainage

A brass through fitting with plug will be installed to allow drainage to splash well

Completed Project

Thanks for viewing my project.....
Believe it or not this little boat has caught bonita, dolphin, and even a sailfish. Hopefully with its new fiberglass floor it will catch many more in the years to come.
