Oil Tank Smoker

 

Old tank

We began by cleaning up the tank and laying out the location of the doors.

Before the doors were cut all the way the hinges were welded on.

After cutting the doors the tanks were cleaned out using engine cleaner and degreasers. Along with typical car wash.

Here is the other tank after cleaning. Both tanks looked like new metal on the inside.

We built a couple big fires in the tank to clean out any reside from the previous use. After the fires, the tanks had no oily smell.

Fire boxes

These 24" long piece of 25" Diameter pipe will be come the fireboxes for the smokers.
